Forensic Interviews
Our highly trained Forensic Interviewers conduct legally sound and digitally recorded interviews with children aged 3 to 17 when there are allegations or suspicions of abuse, or when the child has witnessed a violent crime.
Mental Health
The Jefferson CAC is proud to partner with Children’s Bureau of New Orleans (CBNO) to offer trauma focused, therapeutic interventions free of charge to all children and families that attend a scheduled forensic interview appointment.
Medical Referral
All children seen at the Jefferson CAC are referred to the JPCO’s Sexual Assault Services Team for a forensic medical evaluation with a specially trained pediatrician.
Paws For Healing
The Jefferson CAC is proud to partner with Canine Companions through our facility dog program, available to every child seen at the Center. Our four-legged team member helps create a calmer, safer, and more trauma-informed environment for children navigating abuse investigations, forensic medical exams, counseling, and court preparation. More than comfort alone, facility dogs help children feel safe, supported, and empowered during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Abuse Prevention
Child abuse prevention is a shared responsibility and the more we learn, the safer our kids will be. The Jefferson CAC is proud to offer community based prevention trainings for adults and children, in addition to customized professional trainings.
